I saw photographs of a plain white prototype 1/43 Jaguar XJR9 by HPI in another thread about a hobby show in Japan. Does anyone know if these will be the
XJR9's from 1988 or 1989? I hope 1989 because I need them for my Le Mans collection.

Todd, if this is the one you are talking about
there's nothing new about it. This model is available for over a year. I would like to see 1989 as well, but I think the HPI is unfortunately changing their strategy as to what to produce. Jerry |

The '89 cars had extra air inlets on the side of the engine cover. This is an '88 car which makes sense since HPI would surely issue the race cars as
well for '89 having gone to the trouble of making that year's shape for the fantasy version.
Did you see your list of Le Mans Spark KB 956/962s Todd? I notice that you have logged in since I prepared the list just for you and posted them. John |

I have checked and rechecked all my Le Mans reference books and can see only two small differences between the 1988 and 1989 cars.
1989 car does indeed have two very small ducts on the engine cover on either side of the large main duct and the decals on the rocker panels say Jaguar France not just Jaguar as in 1988. I am sorely tempted to buy the HPI 1988 cars and convert them to 1989 spec. Next step is to find decals. I have to admit I have not followed the HPI releases because I have most of them by other manufacturers. Did HPI release the 1988 Le Mans Jaguars 1, 2, 3, 21 and 22 in Silk Cut livery? jna, thank you for the list of Spark KB Porsches. I have 6 of 7 and think I have the seventh (the car with the big 0123 decal). I can see it in my minds eye but must have forgotten to record it in my Le Mans data base. Now I have to dig thru 3000 Le Mans models packed in cartons to find it. Damn I hate it when I do that. |

They did # 2, 21, 22 in one box. Here are mine. 
I was hoping for the IMSA ones, with Castrol livery.No show so far Jerry |
